the music may be the same, but the style of which it played was slightly different, instead of “Green Ranger”, they changed it to “Cybertron” the Concept for the show was good though……and the fact that it had two “Bulk and Skull”-like characters made it even funnier…..

@misterlaufeyson It’s closer to the Metalder storylinebut there are some significant changes but it much closer than splicing three different metal hero series into one (VR Troopers)
@Jonzilla37 No, although they do look very similar. Kind of like a cross between Kikaider and Ultraman, eh? He is called Metalder from “Super Machine Man Metalder” which is the footage they used.
@aido727 this is adapted from a Metal heroes series Metalder . The theme was change to Go green Go when Jason Frank was recast on Power Rangers.

Similarities sure, but there are significant differences. Lets look at some elements that didn’t come from MMPR:
- Human mentor as opposed to an interdimensional wizard head.
- A villain who could hide in plain sight as a business man.
- The story element of the character’s father missing.

I think the reason Cybertron was renamed Virtual Reality TRoopers or V.R. Troopers is because of a copyright problem Cybertron is the name of a Planet in the Transformers series. Saban did not want to get sued so he changed the name and the show completely.

You know what’s funny? Brad Hawkins, the guy that played Ryan on VR Troopers (and who replaced JDF), actually did some of the first voice work for the Gold Ranger’s first appearance in Power Rangers Zeo before he was replaced by……the fruity triplets. Pretty crazy, huh?
@ShadowBlade79 He wasn’t replaced by them. He continued to dub Trey over them in all of their appearances.
if this was how the show coulda been…i doubt it woulda been cancelled so fast…this is tens times better then what they gave us

You know the funny thing about this is that this could have a good show minus pulling together three Japanese show. That’s what I think.
