Gundam Kits

Do you paint your Gundam Model Kits? ( Is it necessary? and what is the cheapest way?)?
I’m thinking of getting into Model Kit building, though I have no painting skills what-so-ever. I’m just wondering how many of you paint/detail your kits and if it’s necessary to.. I’m thinking of just using the gundam markers for details.
Yes, I paint mine, but I’ve only ever built like 4 Gundam kits. You don’t have to, but they do look nicer when you do (like the other poster said).
Best thing is to just practice to get your painting skills up. Look into getting an airbrush, if you don’t have one yet. Make’s a world of difference in your paint jobs. Tamiya sells a basic set of an air compressor and airbrush. Something like this would be good to start out on.

I’m using a little more advanced set, but no so much so. I’ve used about 5-6 brushes in the past, and I think I’ve finally found the one I’m sticking with.
I wouldn’t try painting the whole kit with the markers. I just use mine for small touch ups and detailing work.
