Remastering could mean a lot of things. In the case of movies and tv shows it could be they touched up the video portion and made it clearer and fixed some of the blemishes or added somethings to it. It could also mean they remastered the audio to sound more up to date. Remastering occurs all the time. Like when they remastered The original star wars trilogy. They just touched them up and added some cool new stuff.
