What is the significance of the glasses in the Transformers movie?

***-->

I started watching the Transformers movie in the middle of it. The alien transformers want the glasses that Sam bought on E-bay. Can anyone tell me what the importance of the glasses are?

    the inscription on the glasses show the coordinates to the Cube, which is what the Decepticons are after and what the Autobots are trying to protect

    they have some kind of tiny inscription embedded on them which is important to the robots.

    They were Shia Laboufs grandfathers glasses.
    he was an explorer and found a transformer the bad guy
    when he found the bad guy he fell and his glass got some alien technology on them with the coordinates to the cube thing
    thats why everybody was after it

    They have imprinted on them a map to the Allspark left over from a hundred years ago that grandpa Witwiki accidentally got from Megatron’s frozen, lifeless body

    They have a crack on them, that was created when Sam’s great grandad, or whatever, Archibald Wickwicky, accidentally tripped Mega-trons navigation system when he found Mega-tron frozen in the ice while he was exploring the artic circle, and the auto-bots/deceptacons can tell the exact location of theAllspark from that crack, it’s like a little map embeded in the glasses.
