Will the U.S. Military ever use Mech's? Examples, Mech assult, mech warrior, gundam wing?
***-->I have seen 2 functional mechs online that work. The Military should look into theese projects.

Do you think the Military are going to tell you everything they have? I don’t think so! They tell and then the enemy knows and works around it. Take a look at what is used in the private sector and then see if you want to ask that question.
well the USA is using UAV’s and have been working on robots, those are mechs right
I DONT WATCH STAR TREK XD
lol
Sorry dude but humanoid mechs are highly useless. An ugly uncool uninteresting robot can get things done phenomenally better, faster, and more accurately than some cool uber robot with big guns and and legs and steamy vents around the face and glowy lights needlessly placed in aesthetically pleasing zones.
i could see them using them in the distant future it the parts we’re cheap and they were effective enough.
the problems i see is that for the time being they would be slow, a HUGE target, and easily spotted/heard so they would be very easy to take out.
someday maybe though!
There are some completely robotic tools in the military (Predator Drones, I think some are called), but if you mean robotic soldiers, no time soon. Even ignoring the immense cost (and, like it or not, money is more important people when it comes to the real world), technology isn’t even close to being able to replace the average soldier.
The problem with all robotic weapons is twofold:
They require a human operator, and probably dedicated human support personnel as well.
Worse, they require a whole raft of specialized supply and repair services. I mean, you can’t just fix your mech at a truck depot, it’s going to require trained repair people, and special parts and supplies.
So basically you are deploying an entirely new and fabulously expensive weapon system, in order to justify that your weapon system would have to be pretty amazing.
Since a few guys who were good with RPGs could take out a mech, what’s the advantage to them? Especially when you could put dozens of soldiers and vehicles in the field for the cost of a mech.
At this point mechs are sci fi, and likely to remain so in the near future.
That is the future. From SAM, guided bombs, UFV, etc are all designed to save our soldiers lives, but they have to prove to be reliable & accurate to minimise civilian casualties.
It’s coming down the pipes..
